Hmm
Not to be a perfectionist but how did that movie went from all those intense and romantic encounters to such tragic ending? Also, some lingo and sexual act in that movie wouldn't be available in the 1980s of Nigeria.
The acting? 8/10
The story? Not to my taste.
With the title and the synopsis that I read on Netflix, I was prepared for an interesting depiction of the humble lifestyle of a farmer's bride in the 80s.

Overhyped and Underwhelming
The Farmer’s Bride is one of those films that arrived with a lot of noise, which made watching it late feel somewhat. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below the hype. The story itself is bland and never really finds a strong direction, and the film is padded with so many unnecessary scenes that add nothing to the plot. By the time it finally gets to the ending, it delivers one of the weakest conclusions I’ve seen in a while; abrupt, unsatisfying, and nowhere near worth the buildup.
What saves the movie from being a total disappointment is the cast. Every actor delivered solid performances and fully embodied their roles, even though the script didn’t give them much to work with. They did justice to the characters, and it’s clear the talent was there; the problem was simply the story.
Overall, The Farmer’s Bride feels like a missed opportunity; overhyped, underwhelming, and well below expectations. It’s one of those films that had potential but never quite figured out what to do with it.
