Wunmi Toriola (born July 11, 1988) is a prominent Nigerian actress, film producer, and businesswoman known especially for her roles in Yoruba-language cinema. She was born in Lagos State and raised there, in a family of four children. She lost her mother at a young age and was raised with a strict father. Wunmi attended Providence Primary & Secondary School in Lagos, then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Ilorin. Her acting career took off when she debuted in the Yoruba theatre group Odunfa Caucus in 2009. She moved into film production in 2015 with her first movie, Ajewunmi. Over the years, Wunmi has starred in numerous hit Nollywood films (both Yoruba and English), winning several awards, including Fastest Rising Actress (Yoruba) at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2018. She's also CEO of “WT Signature”, a fashion & lifestyle brand, while balancing producing and acting roles. In her personal life, she was married in 2018, had her first child in October 2019, and publicly announced her marriage had ended in 2023. Her recent works include Queen Lateefah (2024), Farmer’s Bride (2024), and Crossroads (2024), among others.
