Mercy Aigbe (born 1 January 1978) is a celebrated Nigerian actress, director, filmmaker, fashion entrepreneur, and businesswoman, best known for her dynamic roles in Yoruba-language Nollywood films. Hailing from Benin City in Edo State, she is the second child in a family of five and completed her primary schooling at St. Francis Primary School before attending Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos. She earned an OND in Financial Studies from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and in 2001 graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos.
Mercy began her acting journey with soap operas like Papa Ajasco, achieving a breakthrough in the film Ara (2006), produced in Ibadan. She has since starred in over 150 films, spanning drama, comedy, and action, in both Yoruba and English, and has contributed to movies that highlight Edo culture.
Beyond performing, Mercy is an influential fashion entrepreneur, founding Mag Divas Boutique in Lagos (later expanding to Ibadan) and being named Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2016, she launched the Mercy Aigbe Gentry School of Drama, nurturing emerging Nollywood talents. Her production credits include 77 Bullets (2019) and Ada Omo Daddy (2023), both box-office hits showcasing her talents behind the camera.
An award-winning actress, she has received numerous accolades, including City People Best Actress in Yoruba, and AMVCA Best Supporting Actress (2025) for The Farmer's Bride. Active on social media, she commands millions of followers and frequently leverages her platforms to launch fashion campaigns, drive brand collaborations, and spark conversations on women’s empowerment and culture.
