The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), organised to recognise excellence and outstanding individual performances in African film and television, took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

In contrast, Lateef Adedimeji’s Lisabi: The Uprising won the award for Best Indigenous Language (West Africa), and Blessing Uzzi’s Freedom Way won the award for Best Movie.
