June gave us a fantastic movie lineup, and July 2024 promises to deliver even more fascinating and potentially record-breaking films. In this new adventure of the Despicable Me franchise, criminal Maxime La Mal breaks out of prison and sets out on a revenge mission against Gru and his family. Gru will be shouldering the role of a father as he adds another kid to his collection, Gru Jr. Gru and his family will be forced to relocate, but they won’t escape what is coming for them. How will they maneuver this without losing anybody? The movie stars the voices of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Sofía Vergara, Pierre Coffin, Joey King, Miranda Cosgrove, Stephen Colbert, Steve Coogan, and Chloe Fineman.
This movie tells the story of a couple, Krishna and Vasudha, whose love story spans 23 years from 2000 to 2023. Krishna (Ajay Devgn) is involved in multiple murders and is sentenced to life imprisonment. This incident leads Vasudha (Tabu) to marry Abhijeet (Jimmy Sheirgill). Twenty-two years later, Krishna is released due to a pardon and tries to meet Vasudha. Will he be able to meet her? The movie will premiere in cinemas on July 5.
This American horror-thriller film follows FBI agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) as she investigates an unsolved case involving the serial killer Longlegs (Nicolas Cage). The more Agent Harker investigates, the more dark secrets she encounters, some related to her. How will she escape these dark secrets and the doom waiting for her? The film will be released in the US and the UK on July 12. Longlegs also stars Alicia Witt, Blair Underwood, Dakota Daulby, Jason Day, and Kiernan Shipka.
Indian 2 (Indian II: Zero Tolerance) is a sequel to the 1996 Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film. The movie features Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an old freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. The movie will be released on July 12 in theatres worldwide and stars Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Gulshan Grover, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Samuthirakani, and Nedumudi Venu.
This American romantic comedy-drama film, set in the 1960s during the Space War between the United States and the Soviet Union, stars Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, and Ray Romano. The film explores the relationship between the NASA director overseeing the Apollo 11 launch and the marketing guru hired to improve NASA's public image and plan a "backup" fake Moon landing. It will be released theatrically in the US and Canada on July 12, before streaming on Apple TV+.
Sarfira is a remake of the hit Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru released in 2020. The movie adapts the memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey by G. R. Gopinath and tells the story of a man who dreams of creating affordable airlines for low-income people. Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas, R. Sarathkumar, and Radhika Madan and will be released on July 12.
This American comedy-drama film tells the story of writer Renn Wheeland (Nick Jonas) who returns to Cleveland for his mom's funeral. He forges new relationships, mends old ones, confronts his problems, and faces his grief. The film will be released in the US on July 23 and features Brittany Snow, David Arquette, Alexandra Shipp, Matt Walsh, Ryan Bergara, and Elizabeth Shue.
Raayan is about a man who trains himself and goes in search of the killers who murdered his family, leading him to a criminal network bigger than him. The movie stars Dhanush, S. J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, and Aparna Balamurali. Originally scheduled for release on June 13, it was postponed to July 26.
Wade Wilson is living a new quiet life, which is surprisingly strange for him. This stops as the Time Variance Authority enlists him for a mission to save his home universe from an existential threat. A reluctant Wade Wilson teams up with Wolverine to change the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, Morena Baccarin, and Karan Soni and will be released on July 26.
Prime Video offers the classic 1966 Italian epic spaghetti Western film starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach. The movie follows Blondie (Clint Eastwood), a bounty hunter on a quest for Confederate gold, teaming up with Tuco (Eli Wallach) with ruthless mercenary Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef) on their tail. Available on Prime Video from July 1.
The Rocky franchise, based on the life of Chuck Wepner and centered around the boxing careers of Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and his protege Adonis Creed, will start streaming on Prime Video on July 1. Only Rocky I, II, III, IV, and V will be available.
Street-smart cop Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) returns 30 years later in the fourth installment of the action-comedy franchise. Returning cast members include Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, and Bronson Pinchot, with new characters played by Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Available on Netflix on July 3.
This Prime Original comedy follows Tiffany Simpson (Emma Roberts) who scams her way into NASA’s astronaut training scheme. The movie stars Emma Roberts, Gabrielle Union, Tom Hooper, Poppy Liu, Sebastián Yatra, David Foley, and Desi Lydic, and will be available on Prime Video on July 4.
Based on Liane Moriarty's novel, this Prime Original mystery drama follows the disappearance of Joy Delaney (Annette Bening), uncovering long-buried secrets within her family. The limited series stars Sam Neill, Jake Lacy, and Conor Merrigan-Turner and will be available on Prime Video on July 7.
JJ and Sophie reunite in this sequel to the 2020 action-comedy film My Spy. The movie stars Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, Ken Jeong, Anna Faris, and Flula Borg and will be available on Prime Video on July 15.
