The official trailer for James Gunn’s Superman has just been released, and this has generated a lot of buzz online, gaining over 4 million views in under 24 hours and sparking widespread anticipation.
The trailer features iconic characters such as Clark Kent/Superman (David Corenswet), Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult)—characters who were also part of the previous DCEU, now with new casting in the brand-new DCU—alongside several other characters, such as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Krypto the Superdog, Rex Mason/Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and Michael Holt/Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), among others.
Following the announcement of the DC’s brand-new cinematic universe, ‘DCU,’ on January 31, 2023, Superman garnered significant attention from film critics and fans alike, stemming mainly from the fact that the film debuts ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’ and marks the start of an exciting new cinematic universe.
Fans have anticipated and anxiously awaited this film since its announcement in January 2023, and the long wait is finally almost over. After two long years of waiting, we finally get to experience firsthand the unveiling of the DCU with this film, and I am beyond excited to see how well DC can craft and give life to this world of superheroes.
The film premieres on 11 July 2025.
