Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar has managed to cross the Rs 100 crore net mark at the Indian box office despite facing heavy criticism and negative word-of-mouth. The film, which was directed by A.R. Murugadoss, was released on March 30. The movie took around 16 to 17 days to achieve this milestone.
While Sikandar's box office performance was impacted by its poor reception, it has still managed to continue Salman Khan's impressive streak of delivering Rs 100 crore net grossers at the Indian box office. This marks the actor's 18th consecutive film to achieve this feat, a record unmatched by any other Indian actor.
Sikandar's journey to the Rs 100 crore club is notable, given its slow start and negative reviews. Typically, Salman Khan's films enter this coveted club within 3 to 4 days, but Sikandar's struggle was evident. With the release of Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2, Sikandar is now heading toward the end of its theatrical run.
Salman Khan's first Rs 100 crore net grosser was the 2010 release Dabangg, directed by Abhinav Kashyap. Since then, the actor has consistently delivered back-to-back Rs 100 crore net grossers, cementing his position as one of India's most successful actors.
