Directed by Jang Joon Yeop, known for Disappearance and After Summer, Killing Time centers around a broadcast team known for their controversial Internet show, "Killing Time." A fatal accident occurs during one of their scandalous broadcasts, pushing the team toward drastic decisions in pursuit of fame. Nam Yoon Su stars as Production Director Joo Won, a character known for his relentless drive to find increasingly sensational content for the show. This role marks a return to K-dramas for Nam Yoon Su after two years, following his last appearance in Love in the Big City (2024). He has previously garnered attention for dynamic roles in Today’s Webtoon, The King’s Affection, and Beyond Evil.
Joining him is Ryu Hye Young, portraying Yeon Woo, a character who dreamed of acting but finds herself thriving in the online broadcast world. As the story unfolds, Yeon Woo becomes traumatized by the death of a team member, highlighting Ryu Hye Young's depth in portraying complex characters. Ryu has come a long way since her debut in the 2007 short film High School Girls and made her mark in dramas like Reply 1998 and Law School, with her most recent role in Adult Kids (2023).
