Sky Force

Sky Force is an Indian Hindi-language war film that stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. The movie tells the story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike which was a retaliatory attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965. Sky Force was released in cinemas on October 2, 2024.

Salem’s Lot

Salem’s Lot is an American supernatural horror film which follows Author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) who returns to his hometown, Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration, only to be welcomed by a bloodthirsty vampire. The film is based on the 1975 novel, ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. Salem’s Lot is written and directed by Gary Daubermann who worked on top horror movies like Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, IT, IT Chapter 2, The Nun, and The Nun II. Max released Salem’s Lot on October 3, 2024.

Joker: Folie a Deux

Joker: Folie a Deux follows Arthur Fleck as he struggles with his dual identity and lack of freedom in Arkham. He awaits trial for his crimes as Joker. Crazily, as it has always been, he will fall in love with fellow inmate Harleen Quinzel (Lady Gaga). More crazily, the lovers experience some musical madness as they both journey on a very long road to freedom. Meanwhile, outside Arkham, Arthur’s followers start a movement to liberate him: more chaos and more jokes in this instalment. Joaquin Phoenix remains our host, the Joker. Joker: Folie a Deux was released in the United States on October 4, and is available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes.

The Platform 2

The Platform 2 (Spanish: El Hoyo 2) is a Spanish satirical sci-fi film about a large, tower-style self-management prison that houses various criminals, The Platform. Every floor in the platform has two occupants and a free-floating system that delivers food to them every day. Trouble looms when a new resident decides to challenge the horrible feeding system. What will you do to save your life when eating from the wrong plate is a death sentence? Platform 2 is a sequel to The Platform (2019) and was released on Netflix on October 4, 2024. The movie will star Milena Smit and Hovik Keuchkerian (Bogota in La Casa De Papel).

Take Cover 

Take Cover is a British action thriller film starring Scott Adkins and Alice Eve. The movie follows Scott Adkins as a burned-out professional sniper who finds himself trapped with no backup in an all-glass penthouse by a lethal competitor. Stuck between an obvious death, he needs to find a way out of nowhere to survive and escape. Take Cover was released in the US and the UK on October 4 and 12, 2024, respectively.

Vettaiyan

Vettaiyan which means hunter is an Indian Tamil action drama that stars Rajinikanth as the main character. This action film is the first Tamil film for Star actor Amitabh Bachchan. The movie tells the story of a retired police officer as he fights against the system he served passionately.  Vettaiyan was released on October 10, 2024.

High Forces

High Forces is a Hong Kong-Chinese action film that stars Andy Lau as Gao Haojun, an international security expert and former Special Police officer. During an operation of subduing armed robbers in a jewellery shop, Gao accidentally blinds his daughter and this shatters the family as his wife and daughter, Xiaojun leave him. Years later, he bumps into his former wife and daughter in an Airbus A380 which criminals later hijack, Gao and his daughter work together to protect the passengers. High Forces hit the theatres on October 10, 2024.

Terrifier 3

Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) and her brother Jonathan (Elliot Fulham) survived the Halloween massacre by Art the Clown in Terrifier 2. More terror returns for them in Terrifier 3 as Art is ready to give them a new nightmare as a Christmas gift, proving that no holiday is safe. David Howard Thornton returns as Art the Clown with Samantha Scaffidi as Vicky Heyes, the sole survivor of the first instalment (Terrifier) as Art’s partner-in-crime. Terrifier 3 premiered at Fantastic Fest in September and was released in theatres on October 11, 2024.

Jigra

Jigra is an Indian Hindi-language action thriller film that stars Alia Bhatt as Satya Anand and Vedang Raina as Ankur Anand. The movie follows Satya as a young woman who experiences a series of unfortunate events, and her brother, Ankur, her only brother is imprisoned in a foreign prison. Despite her troubled past and strong-willed personality, she has to do the impossible and unthinkable: prison break. Jigra hit theatres on October 11, 2024.

Martin

Martin is an Indian Kannada-language action thriller film which follows Lieutenant Brigadier Arjun Saxena (Dhruva Sarja) who travels from Pakistan to India to discover his identity and protect his country from terrorists. The action film was released on October 11, 2024.

Brothers

Brothers is an action comedy film which stars Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage. These two will play two criminal twin brothers, one trying to reform himself which he fails at when he reunites with his sanity-testing brother who is planning a heist. They have to dodge bullets, break rules, and survive their overbearing mother while saving their family bond despite being at each other’s throats at any chance. Brothers is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Goodrich

Goodrich, a comedy film tells the story of a Los Angeles art dealer, Andy Goodrich whose life gets upended when his second wife leaves him with their nine-year-old twins. As a novice, he relies on his daughter from his first marriage, Grace who tries to make him into the father she never had. Micheal Keaton acts as Andy Goodrich and Mila Kunis as Grace Goodrich. Goodrich was released on October 18, 2024.

Smile 2

Smile 2 is a psychological supernatural horror film which stars Naomi Scott as Skye Riley, a pop singer who wants to go on a new world tour. Trouble looms as she starts to experience disturbing and inexplicable events. Will she be able to face her fears and conquer them? Or will it consume her? Smile 2 is a sequel to Smile (2022) which starred Sosie Bacon as a therapist who experienced a bizarre suicide of her patient. Paramount Pictures released the new sequel on October 18, 2024.

Canary Black

Canary Black is about a top CIA operative, Avery Graves who is blackmailed by terrorists into betraying her country to save her abducted husband. She goes on a solo mission and turns to her underworld contacts to survive and execute her mission flawlessly. Kate Beckinsale will star as Avery Graves. Canary Black is currently available on Amazon Prime Video on October 24, 2024.

Venom: The Last Dance

Tom Hardy returns as Venom in the trilogy's final film, Venom: The Last Dance. Eddie Brock and Venom are on the run when humans and Klyntar hunt them, the world of alien symbiotes from where Venom symbiote comes. The word Klyntar also means the symbiote race itself. Eddie and Venom are forced to fight and combat their enemies and this will lead to the last dance of the duo. Venom: The Last Dance was released in cinemas worldwide on October 25, 2024.

Don’t Move

Don’t Move is an American horror-thriller film about a killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent in an isolated forest. With just 20 minutes to live, she must run, hide, and try to survive before her nervous system collapses. The film stars Kelsey Asbille, Finn Wittrock, and Daniel Francis. Don’t Move is currently available on Netflix on October 25, 2024.

Amaran

Amaran is a Tamil-language biographical action-drama film about the personal and professional life of Ashoka Chakra (India’s highest peacetime military decoration) awardee Major Mukund Varadarajran, killed during action. The movie is an adaptation of India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military, a book series by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Sivakarthikeyan will star as Major Mukund Varadarajran alongside Lallu, Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Shreekumar. Amaran was released on October 31, 2024, coinciding with Diwali.

Vidaamuyarchi

Vidaamuyarchi covers a married couple’s trip. However, the trip becomes sour when the wife goes missing prompting the husband to find her. The movie is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller film that stars Ajith Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Arav, Regina Cassandra, and Arjun Sarja. Vidaamuyarchi hit the theatres on October 31, 2024.
