Last weekend was a big one for anime fans worldwide, as AnimeJapan 2025 delivered exciting news about the highly anticipated second season of Kaiju No. 8.
Following the phenomenal success of its debut season, Kaiju No. 8 quickly became a fan favourite. But since the finale, viewers have been left on tenterhooks, eagerly speculating about what comes next. The shocking revelation of Kafka’s hidden identity and the Defense Force’s conflicted response to his monstrous powers have only fueled anticipation for the sequel.
Well, good news—the wait is almost over! Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is officially set to premiere in July 2025, and fans can now catch a glimpse of what's to come in the newly released teaser trailer.
The first thing that stands out in the new Kaiju No. 8 trailer is the stunning urban artwork, which remains just as visually impressive as Season 1. However, this time, there’s even more destruction on display, as characters grapple with the fallout of the brutal battle that sent Kafka into a frenzy.
The trailer also marks the full-fledged introduction of Gen Narumi (voiced by Kōki Uchiyama). While he was briefly teased at the end of Season 1, Season 2 sees him stepping into the spotlight, bringing a whole new dynamic to the story.
Season 2 will adapt some of the manga’s most thrilling arcs, including the Kaiju Weapon Arc, Compatible User Arc, and possibly the Cataclysms Arc. Gen Narumi’s leadership of the First Division will be tested as they face catastrophic new threats, while Kafka’s internal struggle to control his Kaiju side intensifies.
The summer anime season is shaping up to be highly competitive, with major titles like Dandadan and Sakamoto Days making their debuts. But with its massive following, intense action, and gripping storyline, Kaiju No. 8 is more than ready to hold its ground.
Prepare for more action, deeper character development, and epic battles as Kaiju No. 8 returns to our screens.
