The second season of Peacemaker is already making waves on HBO Max, but series creator and DC Studios co-chair James Gunn says the best is yet to come. According to Gunn, the last three episodes of the season are so packed with surprises that even critics were denied early access.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Gunn explained why press screeners only included the first five episodes:
“I am the one who’s keeping the three episodes away from everybody because there are too many surprises in those last three episodes,” Gunn said. “Especially 6 and 8, they are just crazy, my favorite things I’ve ever done of anything.”
The decision has sparked speculation among fans about what’s coming. While Gunn has hinted that Blue Beetle may appear this season, he suggests there’s far more in store than just a hero cameo.
With Gunn overseeing the entire DCU reboot and developing the upcoming Superman: Legacy, the possibilities are wide open. Could the final episodes feature major DC character introductions or connections to the new DC timeline?
For now, Gunn is keeping those secrets locked away—but his tease of episodes 6 and 8 being “crazy” and among his favourite work ever has fans counting the days.
