Universal Pictures has confirmed that HIM, a chilling new sports horror film from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, will release in theatres on September 19, 2025. The producers of the upcoming movie have released the behind-the-scenes footage of this chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, idolatry, and the pursuit of excellence at any cost.
Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), the film stars Marlon Wayans (Requiem for a Dream, Respect, White Chicks), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), and rising star Tyriq Withers (I Know What You Did Last Summer). Tipping, Skip Bronkie, and Zack Akers co-wrote the screenplay.
The plot follows a promising young football player (Withers) who is invited to train with a legendary but ageing quarterback (Wayans) at an isolated compound. What begins as a golden opportunity soon spirals into a nightmarish descent into fame, power, and psychological terror. Julia Fox’s role remains under wraps, adding intrigue to the mystery surrounding the film.
With Monkeypaw’s signature blend of social commentary and horror, HIM promises to explore the dark obsession and dangers of ambition in professional sports.
HIM will be released in the U.S. by Universal Pictures on September 19, 2025.
