Uzor Arukwe (born August 6, 1983) is a Nigerian actor renowned for his versatility across drama, comedy, and thriller genres. Hailing from Nkwerre in Imo State, he attended Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt before earning both a B.Sc. and B.A. in Economics from Abia State University, and later an MBA from the University of Calabar. Arukwe began his Nollywood journey in 2014 with Unspoken Truth, but rose to prominence as Inspector Sam in the 2017 hit Sergeant Tutu. His performance in Code Wilo further solidified his reputation, and his standout roles in Smash and Size 12 earned him double nominations for Best Actor in Comedy or Movie at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. In 2021, he received a Best Actor nomination at the Best of Nollywood Awards for Yours Regardless. More recently, he starred in the box-office sensation Hire a Woman (2019), the supernatural blockbuster Sugar Rush (2019), and the high-grossing supernatural drama Malaika (2023). In 2025, Uzor Arukwe delivered a compelling performance in the Netflix crime mystery series The Party, which topped streaming charts across Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa. In the same year, he was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for his role in Suspicion. Arukwe’s blend of academic rigour and creative passion makes him a standout actor in contemporary Nollywood.
