Idera Hills, Nigeria – Present Day
A deep rumble trembled beneath the earth.
Nestled on the outskirts of Lagos State, the remote town of Idera had always been quiet—lush with farmland, bordered by thick forests, and largely overlooked by the rest of the country. But tonight, silence was shattered by something unnatural. The ground convulsed as if an ancient beast had stirred beneath the soil. A beam of light shot up into the sky from a nearby hill, illuminating the clouds with a strange purple glow before vanishing.
People screamed. Windows shattered. Livestock scattered.
From the roof of a two-story house, Tunde Ighodaro, a sharp-eyed investigative journalist, adjusted the zoom on his camera. He had come to Idera chasing a story about illegal mineral extractions, but what he saw now—he couldn’t explain. The pulse. The light. The brief warping of the air like heat rising off asphalt.
Tunde blinked. “What the hell was that?”
He replayed his footage. Frame by frame, he watched seven objects streak down from the sky, converging on the spot where the light had risen. Not debris. Not meteors. They moved too deliberately.
“I’ve got something,” he whispered, grabbing his recorder.
Deep underground, in chambers that hadn’t seen light in centuries, something stirred. Seven beings blinked into consciousness, rising from pods that hummed with blue energy. They were humanoid—but taller, sleeker, shimmering with translucent skin that seemed to shift with the light.
Ziran, the calm yet imposing leader, spoke first. “The beacon has fired. We are no longer dormant.”
Amara, his second-in-command, placed a hand to her head, scanning frequencies. “I detect native sentience. Many. Advanced, yet fragmented. They have machines.”
Vek, the enforcer, cracked his neck. “Let them come. If they are hostile, they’ll fall like the others.”
What none of them realized was that the pulse that reawakened them had been triggered by a team of Nigerian miners drilling in forbidden territory—unaware they had broken into an ancient alien vault.
Far from Idera, alarms blared inside a covert division of the Nigerian Defense Force. Inside a concrete bunker known only as Base N-Zero, Commander Okonjo stood before a wall of holographic screens. He was ex-military, decorated, and now led Nigeria’s classified alien response unit—Division Zulu.
"We have confirmation," said a young analyst, pointing to satellite feeds. "Seven unidentified entries. Not meteors. Controlled descent. They landed near Idera."
Okonjo narrowed his eyes. "Dispatch a containment team. Level 3 lockdown. No media, no leaks. This didn’t happen. Not yet."
Tunde didn’t wait for backup. He trusted no one—not after his last exposé nearly cost him his life. He geared up, strapped a flashlight to his head, and rode his motorcycle toward the glowing hills.
As he approached, the air became unnaturally still. His compass spun wildly. The trees seemed to bend slightly, as if reacting to a magnetic force.
He hid his bike and crept forward.
In a clearing surrounded by jagged rocks, he found them—the seven figures. They stood in a circle, radiating soft blue light, exchanging silent signals. The air crackled with raw energy.
Tunde’s breath caught in his throat. He raised his camera, hands trembling.
Then—Amara turned sharply, eyes locking on his hiding spot.
"We are not alone," she murmured.
Suddenly, overhead, a Nigerian military drone buzzed past, scanning the clearing with a harsh spotlight. The aliens vanished instantly, scattering into the trees with superhuman speed.
Tunde ducked, but it was too late. Another drone hovered above him. A voice barked from a speaker: “Hands where we can see them!”
From a nearby ridge, Commander Okonjo watched through a live feed. “Bring him in. He saw too much.”
But Tunde wasn’t alone.
As the soldiers moved in, a flash of blue light appeared behind them. Ziran emerged, placing a hand on Tunde’s shoulder. Time seemed to slow for a heartbeat.
“You’re not one of them,” Ziran said. “Why do you risk yourself?”
“Because… I need the truth,” Tunde whispered.
Ziran nodded, then vanished again, a blur in the trees. Just then, Tunde picked up a rock and hurled it at the drone. Sparks flew. The distraction bought the aliens time.
But it didn’t save Tunde.
Soldiers tackled him to the ground. Shackles clicked around his wrists. Commander Okonjo’s voice crackled in.
“Secure him. He’s the key to this entire mess.”
As Tunde was dragged away, he glanced back at the trees. Somewhere out there, something ancient had awoken—and it had noticed him.
The pulse had changed everything.
And this… was only the beginning.
