Netflix has officially confirmed through their official X account that Cillian Murphy, the 'Oppenheimer' star, will be gracing our screens once again as Tommy Shelby in the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie.
Murphy expressed his excitement, stating, "It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans."
In March, Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, confirmed that the Oscar winner would be reprising his iconic role as the gangster Tommy Shelby. Murphy garnered a legion of devoted fans with his portrayal of Thomas 'Tommy' Shelby of the Shelby family in the Peaky Blinders series.
The movie will pick up the story of the notorious family right where the series left off. Directed by Tom Harper, the film, which is yet to be officially titled, is scheduled to commence filming in Birmingham in September.
