For you to enjoy more love and fun in December, we have compiled the top anticipated movies in Nollywood and Hollywood. These movies will be available in theatres or streaming sites.

A Tribe Called Judah (December 15)

This is another blockbuster movie from Funke Akindele popularly known as Jenifa. Jenifa entered the kitchen again, and she don cook. A Tribe called Judah follows the story of a family that plans to rob a mall (C and K furniture store) to help their mother. The party scattered when the boys got to the mall and met real armed robbers wielding heavy weapons. The movie stars Funke Akindele, Timini Egbuson, Fathia Balogun, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Jide Kene Achufusi, Yvonne Jegede, Tobi Makinde, Nosa Rex, Olumide Oworu, Olayode Juliana, Ibrahim Yekini Itele, and many more stars. A Tribe Called Judah will hit the cinemas on December 15.

Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 22)

Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the sequel to the 2018 Aquaman. Aquaman 2 will showcase the lifestyle of Arthur Curry who is now a father and a king. The movie will also see Aquaman fighting his former enemy who is determined to destroy Atlantis and everything that Aquaman holds dear. The sequel promises to have many twists and deliver formidable actions. The movie will star Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson, Bruce Wayne, Nicole Kidman, and others. Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be in cinemas on December 22.

Afamefuna (December 1)

Afamefuna: A Nwa-Boi story will highlight the Igbo apprenticeship system and how it shapes Nigeria’s economy. Nigerians eagerly await for this movie as they can’t wait to unravel the mystery behind this system. The film will star Kanayo O. Kanayo, Alexx Ekubo, Segun Arinze, Jide Kene Achufusi, Noble Igwe, Stan Nze, and many other superstars. Afamefuna will be out in cinemas on the 1st of December.

Ferrari (December 26)

This movie is a biographical sports drama that tells how bankruptcy nearly erases what we now know as Ferrari from the surface of Earth. The film follows Enzo Ferrari as he faces many challenges, including the death of his beloved son, the company’s impending bankruptcy, his failing marriage, and many more. The fate of Ferrari lies in the 1957 Mille Miglia, a treacherous winding 1000-mile race across Italy. The movie will star Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari and will hit the cinemas on December 22. Adam Driver will star alongside Penélope Cruz, Gabriel Leone, Chuz Shailene Woodley, Patrick Dempsey, and Jack O’Connell.

Breath of Life (December 15)

Breath of Life portrays the story of a clergyman who loses everything, including his faith and becomes a shadow of himself. His life will later be altered by the intervention of his Christian houseboy. This faith-inspired movie will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on December 15. Breath of Life will star Wale Ojo, Chimezie Imo, Sam Dede, Ademola Adedoyin, Tina Mbu, Chidozie Nzeribe, and Genoveva Umeh.

Wonka (December 15)

Wonka is a musical fantasy movie that narrates the origin story of how the famous and eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka became a popular candy maker. The film also showcases his extraordinary adventures and infallible and exciting magic tricks. Willy Wonka is played by Timothée Chalamet. Other stars are Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), Calah Lane, Keegan-Micheal Key, Matt Lucas, Paterson Joseph, and Sally Hawkins. The Warner Bros movie will be in theatres on December 15.

Double Dekoi (December 1)

A crime thriller by Sola Sobowale and Kanayo O. Kanayo, Insha Allah, I will be there (In Lasisi voice). Double Dekoi tells the story of Amanda who infiltrates a dangerous criminal organization led by ruthless bosses to clear her brother’s name of murder. Amanda will also create a team that will assist her mission. The movie which features Baaj Adebule, Hilda Dokubo, Rodney Perry, Ronke Odusanya, and Yinka Quadri will hit the cinemas on December 1.

Rebel Moon (December 22)

This is one of the most anticipated movies of December. A Zack Snyder film, so why not? The movie, with the description “There are no heroes, only rebels,” narrates the story of a peaceful colony endangered by armies of a tyrannical force. The movie follows a young woman from the territory who will be sent out to rally warriors from nearby planets. The movie stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Bae Donna, Rupert Friend, Charlotte Maggi, Cleopatra Coleman, Anthony Hopkins, and Jenna Malone. It will be available only on Netflix on December 22. 

Ada Omo Daddy (December 15)

Ada Omo Daddy is Mercy Aigbe’s first cinema project. Mercy Aigbe will serve us a family-oriented drama with orishirishi like comedy and valuable lessons. Mercy Aigbe Agba Cook! Mercy Aigbe said that Ada Omo Daddy is a movie that attempts to unify our diversified cultures, regardless of our differences. It is giving One Nigeria vibe! Mercy lined up great cooks in this movie: Sola Sobowale, Dele Odule, Carol King, Omowunmi Dada, Fred Amata, Tayo Faniran, Adewale Ayuba, Charles Okafor, and Tomi Ojo. Ada Omo Daddy will be released in cinemas on December 15.

The Color Purple (December 25)

The Color Purple is a musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s celebrated novel of the same name. The film is a musical drama based on the stage musical of the same name. The anticipated movie will explore the challenges and triumphs faced by an African-American woman living in the South in the early 1900s. The movie will star Fantasia Barrino, Halle Bailey, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, H. E. R., Colman Domingo, Ciara, Corey Hawkins and more. The movie will be released in theatres on December 25.

Malaika (December 22)

Toyin Abraham, another mother Christmas figure will bear spiritual gifts this December. The Ijakumo actress will drop Malaika, Yoruba for “Angel” in cinemas on December 22. Malaika follows the story of a barren woman who tries every way to find a remedy to her condition while battling intense anger issues. How will this play out? Be there on December 22. The movie will star Toyin Abraham, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Emeka Ike, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Adesege Adeniji Westybaba, Uzor Arukwe, and many other VVVVIPs.

Osato (December 8)

Osato tells an exciting story full of love, betrayal, and redemption. The movie showcases the harsh realities faced by an Ashewo in her profession and how she got entangled in a web of crime. Osato promises to be an action-thriller movie that will trigger your emotions. The movie will star Josephine Phyna Otabor, Caz Chidebere, Destiny Agbai, Deyemi Okanlawon, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, Shawn Faqua, Johnson Ibeh, Etinosa Idemudia, and Osagie Elegbe. Osato will be in cinemas on December 8.

Blood Vessel (December 8)

In an attempt to flee their Niger Delta hometown ravaged by oil pollution, six people ended up by chance on a stowaway ship. They don’t know that the ship is heading for South America. Big Wahala! Blood Vessel promises to be a crime and mystery thriller. The movie which will be on Netflix on December 8 will feature Jide Kene Achufusi, Adaobi Dibor, David Ezekiel, Alex Budin, Levi Chikere, Obinna Okenwa, and Sylvester Ekanem.
