Warner Bros has released the official trailer for Mortal Kombat II, sending fans into a state of unbridled excitement.

The film revolves around the character Johnny Cage, telling the story we all know and love from his perspective. 

The trailer featured ‘The Boys’ star Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, piquing the interest of The Boys and Mortal Kombat fans alike. The trailer teases the original “Get over here!” Also, it features Raiden in his classic, original blue and white costume, paying homage to the franchise's roots and evoking nostalgia in long-time fans.

Several of the franchise's fan favourites, like Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), Shao Khan (Martyn Ford), Scorpion (Hiroyuki Canada), Katana (Adeline Rudolph), Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Jax (Mechad Brooks) Jade (Tati Gabrielle), Quan Chi (Damon Herriman), Queen Sindel (Ana Thu Nguyen), Baraka (CJ Bloomfield), Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Kano (Josh Lawson), and Shang Tsung (Chin Han), were featured in the trailer.

Mortal Kombat II is a sequel to the 2021 hit video game adaptation. It is directed by Simon McQuoid, who returns after making his directorial debut with the first Mortal Kombat movie.

Mortal Kombat II will be out in theatres on Oct. 24.
