Exciting news for fans of Amazon Prime Video’s hit show Fallout: production for the highly anticipated second season kicks off later this month, and actor Macaulay Culkin has reportedly joined the cast. Known for his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, Culkin is set to bring a new kind of energy to Fallout, playing what sources describe as a "crazy genius-type character"—a detail that has sparked much speculation among fans.
The first season of Fallout, which debuted earlier this year, was met with critical acclaim, receiving an impressive 16 Emmy nominations. Based on the legendary post-apocalyptic video game franchise, the show follows a world ravaged by nuclear war where survival hinges on wit, resilience, and loyalty. Key cast members Ella Purnell (Lucy), Walton Goggins (The Ghoul), and Aaron Moten (Maximus) are confirmed to return, while Culkin’s addition marks an intriguing new twist.
Fans of the Fallout games are already debating who Culkin might play. Some believe he’ll portray Fantastic, a conniving, self-proclaimed genius from Fallout: New Vegas who joins the New California Republic with dubious qualifications. Known for his memorable line, “they asked me how well I knew theoretical physics, I said I had a theoretical degree in physics,” Fantastic would bring a comedic edge to Culkin's repertoire. Others speculate Culkin might take on the role of Arcade Gannon, a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse, an organization dedicated to humanitarian aid in a devastated world.
Theories and crossovers are also making waves on social media, with Reddit users envisioning a humorous Home Alone homage. “Missed opportunity if he’s not at the end of a crazy booby-trapped lair,” commented one fan, while another added, “The Ghoul, Lucy & Dogmeat are walking to New Vegas. Out of the distance, they hear bullets whizzing by. All of a sudden they hear someone say, ‘Keep the change, you filthy animal.’ Kevin has been home alone for hundreds of years.”
With production set to begin shortly, fans are eager to see what twists Fallout season 2 will bring and how Culkin’s character will fit into this beloved post-apocalyptic world. Stay tuned for more updates as filming progresses.
