Lily Collins and Álvaro Morte are set to make their London West End debuts in Bess Wohl’s highly anticipated play, "Barcelona." The play will run at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the U.K. capital from October 21 to January 11, 2025. The duo will be working with Director Lynette Linton, known for her work on "Shifters," "Blues for an Alabama Sky," and "Sweat," and Bess Wohl, an American playwright and screenwriter. Barcelona promises to be a captivating addition to the West End lineup.
Barcelona is set on the streets of the Spanish city, the narrative follows an American woman on a bachelorette weekend who plunges recklessly into a one-night stand with a dashing Spaniard. What begins as a seemingly casual rendezvous becomes more intricate and emotionally charged. According to the plot synopsis, “During the course of that single, shocking night — by turns funny and dangerous — her romantic fantasy morphs into a complicated game of cat and mouse.”
Lily Collins, known for her roles in "Emily in Paris" and "Mirror Mirror," will bring her charm and talent to the stage, while Álvaro Morte, globally recognised for his role as The Professor in "Money Heist," will showcase his versatility in this new and exciting role.
Bess Wohl, the playwright behind "Barcelona," is celebrated for her ability to craft deeply human and relatable narratives. Her works, including "Camp Siegfried" and "Grand Horizons," often explore the complexities of relationships and the unexpected turns they can take, making "Barcelona" a perfect fit for the talents of Collins and Morte.
