You don’t need a dollar card to subscribe to Netflix. This article will guide you through the process of subscribing to Netflix with your Nigerian Naira card.
 

Netflix is one of the top streaming services offering various Nigerian and international movies, TV shows, anime, and documentaries for a monthly fee. You can watch Netflix on many internet-connected devices like smart TVs, phones, tablets, streaming players, and game consoles. You can also watch it on a computer at Netflix.com and download shows and movies offline on iOS, Android, or Windows 10 devices, depending on your plan.

Steps to Subscribe to Netflix with a Nigerian Naira Card

1. Sign Up on Netflix

Head to Netflix and sign up with your email. After registering, you can set up your profile by creating a password and choosing a suitable plan.

2. Create a Password

Choose a strong password to secure your account.

3. Choose a Plan

After creating your password, you will proceed to pick a suitable plan. Netflix offers four different plans:

• Mobile Plan: This is the cheapest plan at ₦1,600 per month. It supports one device at a time and is available on mobile phones and tablets with a maximum resolution of 480p.
• Basic Plan: Priced at ₦2,900 per month, this plan allows you to watch HD movies on TVs, computers, mobile phones, and tablets. Only one person can use this plan at a time.
• Standard Plan: Ideal for couples and lovers, this plan costs ₦4,000 per month. It supports 1080p (full HD) resolution and allows simultaneous streaming on two devices.
• Premium Plan: At ₦5,000 per month, this plan offers 4K (Ultra HD) + HDR video resolution and spatial audio settings. It supports streaming on up to six devices, making it perfect for families or groups.

4. Proceed to Payment

After selecting your plan, proceed to the payment page. You can pay with a Visa, MasterCard, or Verve debit card. Enter your card details—I used a FirstBank MasterCard. You will then be asked to register your phone number, to which a verification code will be sent via SMS.
Note: If you get an error message on the first try, attempt again—my money wasn’t deducted initially.

5. Set Up Password Recovery

After successful verification, you will set up password recovery.

6. Set Up Profiles and Preferences

Create profiles and assign roles. If the account is for your kids, you can set up their profiles to show only kid-friendly content. Choose your preferred languages for viewing and select three movies you like so Netflix can start personalising your recommendations.

For this tutorial, I chose the mobile plan, which is accessible only on the Netflix mobile app. Hence, Netflix recommends using their app or upgrading the plan. You can download the Netflix mobile app from your device’s app store.
