Sony Pictures, in conjunction with Marvel Entertainment, has released the first trailer for "Venom: The Last Dance." Tom Hardy reprises his role as Venom, the alien symbiote, in this latest instalment of the science-fiction action saga. The movie features a star-studded cast including Rhys Ifans, Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
"The Last Dance" concludes the symbiote trilogy that began in 2018. The movie is set to be released on October 25, 2024. The trailer shows Hardy's Venom battling goons, soldiers, and aliens, but it notably excludes any cameo or scene involving Spider-Man, despite Hardy’s brief appearance in 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home." There are scenes depicting multiple symbiotes in a containment unit.
The trailer also highlights Venom’s ability to bond with non-human beings and introduces Detective Patrick Mulligan as Toxin—the 100th symbiote spawned from Venom and Carnage's lineage. Whether Mulligan will work with or against Venom remains to be seen.
"Venom: The Last Dance" follows its predecessors "Venom" (2018) and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" (2021). The film is a spin-off of the Spider-Man series, written and directed by Kelly Marcel. It is backed by Columbia Pictures along with Arad Productions, Matt Tolmach Productions, Pascal Pictures, Hutch Parker Entertainment, and Hardy, Son and Baker.
