Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently found himself at the centre of controversy after a fake poster of him portraying Guru Nanak Dev Ji went viral online. The poster, along with a fabricated trailer, triggered significant backlash, including threats of legal action from a BJP spokesperson.
However, Aamir Khan’s team has quickly addressed the situation, issuing an official statement to clear the air. “The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don't fall for fake news,” the statement read.
While shutting down the false rumours, Aamir Khan also had exciting news for his fans. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed that his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is set for release on June 20.
Speaking about the project, Aamir shared that the film will tackle the subject of mental health, with his character playing a crucial role in bringing this important theme to life. He mentioned that Sitaare Zameen Par is currently in its final stages of production, keeping him fully occupied.
Announced back in October 2023, Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and presents a fresh take on the theme of individuals with special abilities. The film stars Aamir Khan alongside Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in pivotal roles.
As the fake poster controversy dies down, fans can now look forward to seeing Aamir Khan back on the big screen with a meaningful and inspiring story this summer.
