A Good Watch from Start to Finish
One Battle After Another is one of those films that reminds you why good storytelling still matters. The narrative is tight, engaging, and surprisingly well-layered, making the entire 2+ hours feel purposeful and rewarding. From the opening scenes to the very last moment, the story holds its ground with a confidence that’s hard to ignore.
The production is another standout. Everything, from the camera work to the sound design to the pacing, shows a level of intentionality that raises the bar. It’s clear that the team behind the film wasn’t just trying to deliver a movie; they were building an experience.
And then there’s Sensei. Easily my favourite character, he brings a level of presence and charisma that makes every scene he’s in instantly more interesting.
For a movie that runs over two hours, One Battle After Another never drags. I didn’t find myself sleepy, distracted, or waiting for it to end. Instead, I was locked in, enjoying every beat of the journey. It’s sharp, well-made, and absolutely on point.
If you’re looking for a solid, satisfying watch with strong storytelling and standout performances, this one delivers.
