Overview
Mothers of Chibok is a deeply affecting documentary by award-winning Nigerian filmmaker Joel ‘Kachi Benson. The film follows the daily lives of four mothers from Chibok, a rural community in Northeast Nigeria, as they work through a farming season while carrying the emotional weight of having their daughters kidnapped by Boko Haram in the 2014 abduction of 276 schoolgirls. Interweaving the rituals of planting, harvesting, faith, and community life, the documentary presents these women not as victims frozen in grief, but as resilient bearers of hope and agency in the face of ongoing tragedy.
