Alhaji Akanni Olayinka Quadri (born 6 September 1959) is a veteran Nigerian thespian, acclaimed actor, filmmaker, producer, and director, renowned in the Yoruba film industry. Born and raised on Lagos Island, Lagos State, and originally hailing from Oro in Kwara State, Yinka Quadri boasts a remarkable career spanning over four decades. He began his notable journey in entertainment in 1976, co-founding the Afopina Theatre Group with peers, following his departure from formal schooling.
Known as one of Yoruba’s most prominent movie icons, he has starred in well over 90 films, some sources suggest more than 200, across stage and screen, including memorable titles like Agbodorogun, Kura, Owo Blow, The Return of Jenifa (2011), Apaadi (2009), Gangs of Lagos, and the 2024 film Move Like A Boss. Beyond acting, he co-founded and serves as President of the Odunfa Caucus, a leading theatre art group based in Ebute-Meta, Lagos.
A decorated talent, Quadri earned recognition at major Nollywood award events, was nominated several times at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best of Nollywood Awards, Nollywood Movies Awards, and secured a nomination at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.
