Uzoamaka Aniunoh is a Nigerian actor and writer, best known for her exceptional talent in both fields. Her journey into the entertainment world has been marked by significant achievements.
Born in Onitsha, Uzoamaka pursued her academic endeavors at the University of Nigeria, where she majored in English & Literary Studies and History & International Studies. Her passion for creative writing led her to the University of Birmingham in England, where she earned a master's degree in the field.
Returning to Nigeria in 2017, she seized the opportunity to audition for MTV Shuga's new series. Among numerous auditionees, Uzoamaka stood out and was selected for the role of Cynthia, becoming a pivotal character in the acclaimed series.
She displayed her acting prowess by portraying Cynthia in the film "Stuck," alongside talented actors Seun Ajayi and Lala Akindoju.
Notably, Uzoamaka reprised her role as Cynthia in the sixth season of MTV Shuga, titled "Choices." The series, focused on the impact of the Coronavirus, was an innovative and impactful project backed by the United Nations. Uzoamaka's performance in the mini-series "Alone Together" highlighted the challenges posed by the pandemic, using online conversations among characters. The show featured esteemed actors like Lerato Walaza, Mamarumo Marokane, Jemima Osunde, and Folu Storms, among others.
Apart from MTV Shuga, Uzoamaka displayed her versatility by portraying Kumene in Africa Magic's Riona, earning recognition as a promising actress in 2021.
Her talent extends beyond the small screen; she starred alongside Neo Akpofure in the short film "Sister Rose" and was part of the cast in another short film titled "Ije."
In 2022, she graced the Nigerian streaming series "Diiche," a production helmed by James Omokwe. The premiere in Lagos was a grand affair, hosted by the effervescent Chigul. Uzoamaka's role in the series was well-received by viewers and critics alike.
Her repertoire includes appearances in movies and TV series such as "Blood Sisters," "Diiche," "Ponzi," and "Omugwo." However, her standout performance in the award-winning film "Mami Wata," directed by C. J. ‘Fiery’ Obasi, truly highlighted her talent. Uzoamaka's portrayal of Zinwe in the movie earned her the Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2023 AMAA awards, solidifying her position as a rising star in Nollywood.
