Patience Ozokwor, born on September 14, 1958, in Amaebo, Ngwo, Enugu State, Nigeria, is a renowned Nigerian actress, gospel singer, and fashion designer. She is widely recognised for her compelling portrayals of matriarchal and villainous characters in Nollywood films. Her acting journey began in primary school, where she participated in various stage plays. She later pursued a degree in Fine and Applied Arts at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu. Before venturing into acting, Ozokwor worked as a broadcaster and announcer at Radio Nigeria. Her breakthrough came in 1999 with the film Authority, marking the start of her illustrious career in Nollywood.
Over the years, Ozokwor has featured in over 100 films, earning accolades such as the Best Supporting Actress award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2012 and 2013. In 2023, she was honoured with the Merit Award at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards. Beyond acting, she is also an ordained evangelist and a mother to eight children, three biological and five adopted. Her versatility extends to gospel music and fashion design, making her a multifaceted icon in Nigerian entertainment.
