Mike Merrill is a rising American actor, producer, and entrepreneur making waves in Hollywood’s TV and streaming space. Born in Detroit in 1990, he first appeared on stage in 2015, then transitioned into television with roles on All American, American Soul, and BET’s The Bobby Brown Story. He gained significant attention starring as Martin Britton in The Black Hamptons (BET+) and Ty Washington on BMF (Starz) — the latter earning an NAACP Image Award nomination. In 2025, he appears as Detective Grimes in Netflix’s STRAW alongside Taraji P. Henson.
On the big screen, Merrill has featured in romantic comedies like The Baby Proposal (2019), Keys to the City (2019), and led the romance Love Offside (2024) set in Jamaica. He also wrote and acted in the 2024 TV special Soliloquy.
A model of self-made success, Merrill studied theater and modeling before forging his path in film and TV — all without formal training, relying instead on acting classes, YouTube, and mentorship. With his versatile talent and entrepreneurial drive, he’s quickly becoming one of the most compelling voices of his generation.
