Laide Daramola (born December 25, 1981) is a Nigerian‑American filmmaker, screenwriter, television producer, and creative entrepreneur known for her work bridging Nollywood and Diaspora storytelling. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she holds a BSc in Information Technology from Middlesex University, an MBA from the University of Maryland, and a certificate in Non‑profit Management & Leadership from Harvard University.
With a passion for telling authentic African stories that resonate globally, Laide founded Lady Laide Films (also known as Lady Laide Group), through which she produces original content centred on culture, identity, and social dynamics. Her notable credits include Hotel Labamba (2023), which she produced and which features a blend of crime, drama, and social commentary. She also served as producer and writer for Aso Ebi Diaries (2025), a film exploring fashion, social status, and relational tensions in contemporary Nigeria.
In addition to filmmaking, Laide is a speaker and advocate in areas such as women's empowerment, youth leadership, and children’s health. She co‑founded Master’s Touch (MsT), a U.S.-based humanitarian organisation focused on supporting hospitals, orphanages, and children with health challenges, especially around blood disorders and cancer.
Laide’s creative ethos is rooted in bold, authentic storytelling that challenges stereotypes, lifts marginalised voices, and brings fresh African narratives to global audiences. Her “bridge identity” as Nigerian-American enables her to navigate both Nollywood and international markets, striving to elevate African cinema’s production values, reach, and cultural resonance.
