Kayode Olaiya, popularly known as Aderupoko, is a celebrated veteran actor and comic icon in Nollywood whose career spans over five decades. Born on April 12, 1949, in Ibadan, he first gained recognition performing storytelling and sketch comedies at WNTV (now WNBC) in Ibadan, Nigeria.
Aderupoko rose to fame as part of the legendary comedy trio alongside Jacob (Tajudeen Gbadamosi) and Papalolo (Ayo Ogunsina) on Nigerian television through the Ajimajasan Group. They pioneered the release of comedy albums on vinyl, helping shape modern Nigerian comedy.
He later transitioned into Nollywood films, featuring in classics such as Ti Oluwa Nile, Agogo Ewo, Saworoide, and October 1. He also appeared in more recent titles like King of Thieves (2022) and All Na Vibes (2021).

His passion for football, particularly the Shooting Stars, reflects his deep connection to Ibadan’s sporting culture.
Renowned for his comedic timing, warmth, and the cultural authenticity he brings to his roles, Aderupoko remains a beloved figure in the Yoruba film industry and beyond.
