Kate Funke Adepegba is a celebrated Nigerian television and film actress whose enduring career spans over four decades. She first charmed audiences as Folake in the iconic television soap The Village Headmaster, landing the role serendipitously in 1983 when she wandered into the NTA studio and was urged to audition. That breakout performance opened doors to a slew of television dramas—including Mirror in the Sun, Turning Wheels, Violated Stars, and Amaka Igwe’s acclaimed Checkmate, where she played Celestina and later reappeared in the spin-off Fuji House of Commotion.
A Lagos native with a passion for performing arts from her school days, Kate honed her talent in early stage plays and dramatic clubs before rising to fame on television. Her journey also includes formal studies, she advanced her education in Business Communication in London in the late 1980s, before returning to Nigeria and seamlessly continuing her vibrant acting career.
