J. Claude Deering is an American actor, writer, and stand-up comedian known for character work across film, television and theatre. Born in the UK to an Irish mother and a Jordanian father and later adopted by American parents, Deering trained at Stella Adler and holds a BFA from Stella Adler/NYU Tisch-aligned programs before building a screen and stage career in Los Angeles. He has appeared in feature films such as Side Effects (dir. Steven Soderbergh), The Ugly Truth, and Netflix titles including Night Always Comes, and he has recurring TV credits on series like NCIS and the Blumhouse web series 12 Deadly Days. On stage, he has worked with Williamstown Theatre Festival and Lincoln Centre Theatre’s Directors Lab, and he’s been an instructor at Stella Adler/New York Film Academy. Outside acting, Deering created and hosts the interview series/podcast Things Are Going Great For Me, and he’s appeared in national commercials (Dunkin’, Jeep, Bank of America). His combined work as actor, comedian, and content creator makes him a familiar face in contemporary American TV and indie film circles.
