Gabriel Afolayan (born 1 March 1985, in Lagos, Nigeria) is a celebrated Nigerian actor, singer, and songwriter best known for both his film and music careers. A member of the renowned Afolayan entertainment family, he is the son of pioneering Nigerian actor-director Adeyemi Afolayan, popularly known as "Ade Love".
Educated in Theatre Arts at the prestigious University of Ibadan, Gabriel further honed his craft by studying Performing Arts at Identity Drama School in Brixton, London. His acting debut occurred at an early age in the film F Opawon, and he began building his Nollywood career in earnest from the 1990s.
He earned critical acclaim for his role as Tavier Jabari in Hoodrush (2012), winning the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Supporting. Among his notable film credits are Gold Statue (2019), Coming from Insanity (2019), and U-Turn (2022), which spotlight his dynamic range and versatility in both drama and musical storytelling.
Parallel to his acting, Gabriel has cultivated a flourishing music career under the name G-Fresh. His hit singles such as "Kokoro Ife" and "Awelewa" showcase his style as emotive love ballads, a sound rooted in his early experiences in church music.
