Faithia Williams Balogun, a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer, and director, hails from Delta state and was born in Ikeja on February 5, 1969. She grew up in a polygamous family of nine siblings and received her education at Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos state. There, she obtained her West African School Certificate. Later, she pursued a diploma at Kwara State Polytechnic and in 2016, gained admission to Olabisi Onabanjo University to study Filming.
Faithia's foray into acting was unplanned. At the behest of her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola, she stepped in for an absent actress in one of their movie productions. This marked her debut in the film titled "Ta lo pa chief." Over the years, she has actively participated in starring, producing, and directing numerous Nigerian films.
Her contributions to the industry garnered notable recognition. In 2008, Faithia won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous, while her movie "Iranse Aje" clinched the Best Indigenous Film of the year. Subsequently, in April 2014, she clinched another Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress of the year, sharing the honor with Odunlade Adekola, who emerged as the best actor of the year. Her outstanding work in the film "Iya Alalake" earned her the Best Indigenous Language award at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Throughout her career, Faithia has been honored with awards such as Most Outstanding Indigenous Actress in 2008 and the AMVCA Best Local Language Yoruba in 2015. She is widely recognized for her performances in notable movies including "Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons" (2018), "To Love Again" (2018), "Mokalik (Mechanic)" (2019), "Dear Affy" (2020), "Oba Bi Olorun" (2021), "Esin" (2021), "Osun, the Goddess" (2021), "President Kuti" (2021), "Hatred" (2021), "Alagogo Ide" (2021), "Tree" (2022), "Ojukoro" (2022), "Aníkúlápó" (2022), "Jagun Jagun" (2023), and "A Tribe Called Judah" (2023).
