Actress, Producer
Ebele Okaro Onyiuke is a renowned Nigerian actress and film producer. Born on January 19, 1964, in London and raised in Enugu, Nigeria, Ebele Okaro discovered her passion for acting during her schooling years at Santa Maria Primary School and later at Nsukka's Queen of the Holy Rosary Secondary School. Initially pursuing studies in education at the University of Calabar, Cross River State, she eventually realized her fervour for dramatic arts, earning a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. Her parents, an arts-interested engineer father and a television producer mother, played pivotal roles in nurturing her artistic inclinations.
Following her university graduation, Okaro embarked on her National Youth Service at the Nigerian Television Authority, where she made significant television appearances. However, post-Youth Service, she briefly worked with an embassy in Lagos and later in a bank before returning to her true passion—acting—in the Nigerian movie industry, famously known as Nollywood.
In 2014, Okaro took on the dual roles of producer and actor in "Musical Whispers," a film advocating for the loving care of children with autism. The movie featured notable Nigerian actors, including Chioma Chukwuka and Kalu Ikeagwu.
Regarded as the "Mama of Nollywood," Okaro has garnered immense respect from both her fans and industry colleagues alike. She is highly acclaimed for her exceptional performances in movies such as "Black Rose," "Karma," "Living in Bondage: Breaking Free," and "A Tribe Called Juddah.
