Directing
Dimeji Ajibola is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, producer, animator and visual-effects (VFX) artist known for his work in Nollywood and for directing the acclaimed projects Hoodrush and the crime-thriller series Shanty Town. He began his career in animation and VFX before moving into feature filmmaking and television, bringing a technical, effects-forward approach to Nigerian cinema. Ajibola wrote, produced and directed the musical thriller Hoodrush (2012) and later directed the gritty urban series Shanty Town (2023), works that helped cement his reputation as a multidisciplinary creator within Nollywood. He was based in Lagos and remained active across film production, animation and interactive digital media, regularly sharing updates about projects and industry news on social platforms. Ajibola’s blend of animation, visual effects and narrative filmmaking made him a notable voice in contemporary Nigerian film, influencing rising filmmakers working at the intersection of VFX and storytelling.
