Caroline Danjuma, popularly known as Carolyna Hutchings, is a multi-talented Scottish–Nigerian actress, film producer, interior designer, businesswoman, and philanthropist with a rich background in modelling, Nollywood entertainment, and social advocacy.
Born on 26 June 1987 in Scotland to a Scottish father and a Nigerian mother, she grew up in Nigeria and holds a BSc in Geographical and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar, an MSc in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in the UK.
Carolyna made her Nollywood debut in 2004, courtesy of director Chico Ejiro and actress Rita Dominic, starring in Deadly Care, Deadly Kiss, Missing Angel, The Captor, and other notable films. She later appeared in the acclaimed romantic thriller Stalker (2016), sharing the screen with Jim Iyke and Nse Ikpe Etim, earning recognition and a supporting actress nomination at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards.
Outside of film, she is an accomplished interior designer and entrepreneur with ventures spanning construction and the oil & gas industry. In 2022, Carolyna entered politics as a deputy governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State and continues to make waves in public service.
A dedicated philanthropist, she founded the Hopeville Foundation, committed to supporting women with fertility challenges, children born with birth defects, girl-child education, and women’s empowerment initiatives.
On the personal front, she married Musa Danjuma in 2007 and the union produced three children, but the couple separated in 2016. She continues to be a prominent media figure, known for her professionalism, fashion sense, and philanthropic leadership.
