Bovi Ugboma is a renowned Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer, born on September 25, 1979, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Educated in Theatre Arts at Delta State University, he began his media journey as a reporter for Nigerian Television Network and later served as an assistant to veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo. He launched his breakthrough career in 2007 with the sitcom Extended Family, which he wrote, produced, and starred in. Bovi quickly rose to fame, organising standout stand-up specials such as Bovi: Man on Fire, which toured globally to cities including London, Sydney, Moscow, and Toronto. He has also written and starred in successful Nollywood films like It’s Her Day (2016) and My Village People (2021). Over his career, Bovi has become a beloved household name in Nigerian comedy and entertainment, celebrated for his relatable observational humour, satirical wit, and cultural commentary.
