Biodun Stephen (Biodun Stephen Oladigbo) is a leading Nigerian filmmaker, director, writer, and producer celebrated for her heart-warming romantic dramas and comedies. A philosophy graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University, she later refined her craft with film production training at the London Film Academy.
Launching her filmmaking journey in 2014 with the critically acclaimed The Visit, she established herself with titles like Picture Perfect (which received five nominations and won two Best of Nollywood Awards in 2017), Tiwa’s Baggage, Ovy’s Voice, Ehi’s Bitters, and Sobi’s Mystic, all known for their memorable, character-driven titles derived from the protagonists' names.
As founder of Shutterspeed Projects, Biodun has produced content that resonates across Africa and beyond, airing on platforms like Iroko TV, DStv, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Her body of work includes fan-favourites such as Breaded Life, Looking for Baami, Seven and Half Dates, Joba, and Sista. Her films have earned numerous accolades, including an AMVCA nomination for Breaded Life, a nomination for Best Director for Tiwa’s Baggage, and awards at Maya Awards and Best of Nollywood.
Her storytelling, rooted in personal experience and blue-collar narratives, continues to enthral audiences with its authenticity and emotional depth.
