Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke (born 10 April 1986) is a celebrated Nigerian actor, model, entertainer, and humanitarian, highly recognisable for his charismatic roles in romantic comedies and dramas across Nollywood. Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he was educated at K. Kotun Nursery and Primary School in Lagos, Federal Government College Daura in Katsina State, and earned a degree in Law from the University of Calabar, later supplementing his education with a diploma in Mass Communication from Calabar Polytechnic.
Ekubo first gained widespread visibility as the first runner-up in the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest, which catapulted him into prominent acting roles; notably, his breakthrough came with the hit Nollywood film Weekend Getaway, which established him as a versatile and bankable star in African cinema. His filmography has since expanded to include memorable performances in Lagos Cougars, Aina, The First Lady, Diary of a Lagos Girl, and the Igbo-language cultural hit Áfàméfùnà: An Nwa Boi Story, which topped Netflix charts following its 2023 release.
Beyond his on-screen success, Ekubo has earned multiple accolades, including Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards, as well as Best Actor in a Lead Role at the 2016 BON Awards for The First Lady. His impact stretches into philanthropy and advocacy. He was inducted into the MIPAD/United Nations Most Influential People of African Descent (Under 40) Hall of Fame in 2020, received a Certificate of Excellence for his humanitarian contributions, and was honoured as the Global Social Giving Actor of the Year in 2021.
