The fact that no one truly expected the big negative impact the global pandemic would have on 2020 made a lot of sectors crash. Still, Netflix, on the other hand, seems to be doing fine, even better with the global pandemic as they have grown a lot through the period.

With a lot of the year’s most anticipated films having to take important turns on their release plans; some of which had to keep postponing their movies, while some had to seek for alternative ways to release their movies even though it may have a very negative impact on their income. Netflix, on the other hand, is doing fine as they keep releasing new movies to their rising audience.

Netflix has been releasing some nice original movies to entertain their audience as they remain on lockdown. Based on a comic book with the same name by Greg Rucka comes this successful American superhero film was written by the same author, Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The movie stars the likes of Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, and Van Veronica Ngo.

The film tells the story of a group of immortal mercenaries who got discovered and will now fight to keep their identity safe and protect themselves. The movie was released globally on Netflix on July 10, 2020, and has since then been having a good number of positive reviews and praises globally.

2. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a musical comedy movie released on June 26, 2020. The movie was earlier slated to release in May 2020 to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest. Still, it was made to postpone for a Netflix release after the Eurovision contest was cancelled amidst the global pandemic.

The film directed by David Dobkin and written by Will Ferrell and Andrew Steele follows the story of two singers, Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, as they are given a chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The movie stars the likes of Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Dan Stevens, Pierce Brosnan, and Demi Lovato amongst other stars.

 

3. Da 5 Blood

Da 5 Bloods is an American war drama movie directed by the BlacKkKlansman 2018 director, Spike Lee, who also produced it alongside Lloyd Levin Jon Kilik, and Beatriz Levin.

The movie follows the story of a group of ageing Vietnam War veterans who return to the country in search of the remains of their fallen squad leader and to retrieve some treasure they buried while serving.

The film stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Melanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Paakkonen, Jean Reno, and Chadwick Boseman.

The film since after its Netflix release on June 12, 2020, has been receiving praises by movie critics for the great work on the movie and not leaving out the spectacular performance by Lindo.

The Lovebirds is a romantic comedy film directed by Michael Showalter and from a story Aaron Abrams, Brendan Gall, and Martin Gero.

The movie follows the story of a couple, Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae, as they go on a run after witnessing a murder.

The movie stars Kumail and Issa, as well as Paul Sparks, Anna Camp, and Kyle Bornheimer. The film which was earlier scheduled to release on April 3, 2020, by Paramount Pictures, got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the movie rights were sold to Netflix who released the movie digitally on May 22, 2020.

Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction movie is an American action-thriller film based on a graphic novel titled Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando Leon Gonzalez, and Eric Skillman.

The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi, and David Harbour. It tells the story of a black-ops mercenary who must save the kidnapped son of an Indian drug lord.

The movie was released on Netflix on April 24, 2020, and became the most-watched Netflix original film with its sequel in works.
