Amidst the Coronavirus global pandemic, new movies, including A Quiet Place's sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Tom Cruise's Maverick, have altered their release dates.
The effects of the COVID-19 keeps leaving a significant blow on the entertainment industry at large. The world's movie industry is not left out of the torture has movie release dates keep getting pushbacks. Earlier, it was Disney Studios that announced new release dates for their movies, which include Mulan, Avatar, Star Wars, The French Dispatch, Death on the Nile, Antlers, and few other films.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel is not left out has the spidey film earlier announced to release on November 5, 2021, now has been shifted by a month to December 17, 2021, after an announcement by Sony Pictures. The untitled Tom Holland's Spider-Man 3 movie was initially supposed to release on July 16, 2021, but it was made to shift its release date to November 5, 2021, which has now changed.
Paramount Pictures also took the wheel on Thursday to announce the postponement of the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 A Quiet Place film by John Krasinski. Starring John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, A Quiet Place II, which earlier slated to release on September 6, 2020, will be released in theaters April 23, 2021. The movie was initially to be released on March 20, 2020, after which it was pushed to release on September 6 by the studio due to the widespread coronavirus. Paramount Pictures also announced a new date for Tom Cruise's 1986 classic Top Gun sequel titled Top Gun: Maverick. The movie, which was to release on December 23, 2020, has now been pushed to release on July 2, 2021.
Paramount Pictures also took the opportunity to announce a date for the sequel of the 2020 Sonic the Hedgehog movie. They made know to the fans that the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie will now be released in movie theatres on April 8, 2022.
The studio also announced release dates for two of their upcoming animations; “Under the Boardwalk,” which will be releasing July 22, 2022, and Skydance Animation plus Paramount Animation co-production starring Henry Golding, “The Tiger’s Apprentice” which will be released in theaters on February 10, 2023.
