Depp, the 57-year old Hollywood veteran revealed in London while giving a testimony in court following his legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN), suing them for Libel for one of their 2018 publication in The Sun against him, in which he was called a "Wife Beater". He said that he had lost $650 million made from his hugely successful "Pirates of The Carribeans" franchise, and further incurred a whooping $100 Million debt due to tax evasion masterminded by his former business managers. The actor said on Tuesday, 14th of July 2020 while giving his testimony;
When I fired them for the right reasons I had not only lost the $650 million but I was $100 million in the hole because they had not paid the government my taxes for 17 years. It was a bad meeting.
Johnny Depp and 34 year-old ex wife, Amber Heard parted ways in 2016 after the ex wife accused Depp of physically abusing her, leveling 14 different occasions of physical abuse cases between 2013 and 2016.
Johnny Depp denied all allegations, and stated that he was in fact the victim of abuse during their disastrous marriage.
