When Spenser (Mark Wahlberg) got out from prison after five years of being sentenced for beating his dirty Captain Boylan, he was welcomed with the murder of Captain Boylan and an honest police officer who was also Spenser's friend. Spenser as an ex-cop decides to take up the case and teams up with his no-nonsense roommate, Hawk (Winston Duke), to take down the criminals responsible for the murder.
